I was on the way to work this morning, listening to the radio as usual.  The brief, local new comes on and the reporter begins to tell the story of a member of the military who was robbed last night.  This man has a wife and 4-year-old kid.  He is obviously not raking it in as he is a member of our armed forces.  Someone had the shame to break into his house two days before Christmas and take his TV, Computer, and Christmas Presents!!....One more kicker....a neighbor observed a man loading the TV into the back of a Cadillac and.....said nothing....Lets forget that he is a member of our armed forces...This cause me to start thinking....WTF is wrong with us as a society that one: We can get away with stealing from others who work so hard for what they have, and two: We have the shame to observe someone getting robbed and will say nothing....do nothing....just turn our head....Give me a f*ckin' break!!!  Now I know that this will ruffle some feathers but listen to this....people in Canada, I know it's Canada, do not lock their doors, they have no need to.  Now I know many of you may have some problems with Canada, but just stop to think about that one.  They don't have to lock their doors because people just don't take from others up there.  Our society has to change, this sickens me.  Why would you not say anything and why how can you think that you deserve what someone else has worked so hard to get....The little kid thought he had been bad and that Santa had taken his gifts away!  I hope I never see these pathetic excuses for people walking down the street.  Please let us not forget the reason for the season, whether religious or not, no matter what religion...Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza....Every religion has a profound holiday this time of year.  Let us all learn something from this.  Next time you observe something happening...anything that requires action...take that action, don't wait for someone else to take the action, because when that happens everyone is waiting for someone else to take action.  This is America....Let us not forget what values this country was founded upon.

I am sick of it....Sick of the bad calls, sick of the instant replay, just sick of it!  This rant stems from the Miami vs. Va Tech game on Thursday.  I'd like to start out by saying I did not have a dog in this fight, just thought I'd watch.  And now it begins....

WTF!??!?!?!  We need to do away with the Refs and have the teams make the calls themselves.  I am positive that the games would be called more fair.  QB is it AS HE THROWS, roughing the passer which was followed by yet another bogus penalty which kept the drive going for what ended up being the game winning TD for Miami.  Reviewing plays every 5 minutes, what is the point of the coaches challenge if the refs are reviewing everything on their own?!?!?  The refs are bogus, instant replay is horrible in college football.  I am sick of it.  As a person who enjoys watching college more than pro I am beginning to change my mind.  I like(d) watching college because the players have more heart, they are playing to win, not to get paid.  Quite frankly I don't know how they do it!  I am sure that if it was on a football field today I'd go out of my way, miss a tackle, not catch a pass, to LAY OUT the refs.  Someone needs to knock something into them!!!  I know this is a rant, but seriously.  I need to here a legitimate rebuttal.  Oh wait, I bet there isn't one.  The NCAAF refs SUCK.  At least in the pro there are the Ed Hochuli's.  Any "Ed Hochuli's" in college?  I didn't think so.  Yea, Ed has made a bad call or two....but when is the last time Ed lost a game for a team?  Yea, you can say he did for the Chargers.  But they had....4 chances to win AFTER the bad play.  No, there are no good Refs in college and it has made the game unbearable to watch at times.

With the looks that these Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors have gotten this year against UF, UGA, 'Bama....They will never forget this.  Granted it wasn't the year anybody was looking for, but it is near certain LSU can claim the National Title again real soon.

Thoughts?....

Ok, before you lambaste me, here me out.  With a QB like Brees why do we still have a losing record this year?  Granted Bush got hurt, but we have Brees who proved that even if he is without Colston, Shockey, and Bush, he can still put up 400+ passing yards per game.  Now I know that passing yards aren't everything, so...Let's look at TDs....17 on th year  That is 102pts (not including the PATs) that he has contributed to over the season yet we are still 4-5.  I know this may be a little bit of an overreaction, but SERIOUSLY!  With all the talent that it looks like the Saints have on paper and with the division consisting of Carolina, Tampa Bay, and Atlanta there is no reason why we shouldn't be at least second in the division!  Instead we are two games behind third in the division.  We are averaging over 26 points a game!!!  Our Opponents are averaging just over 25 points per game yet we still can't pull off these victories.

Thoughts?  Suggestions?  Am I totally off course here?

Ok, before this weekend I was upset at Lee's performance, but still backing him as our QB.  However, his performance this past weekend against Alabama really just set me off.  I know that it is the SEC, I know that he wasn't supposed to play for at least another year or two, I know I am not playing so I don't know the facts, but I do have some questions...

How many times does he have to mis-read the defense to learn from his mistakes?  How many times does he have to throw an interception?  Throw into double coverage - TIGHT double coverage?

I know the guy is young, I know he has potential with his arm, but unfortunately he just isn't ready to play in the SEC.  I know, so then the question is, who is LSU's QB?  Well, that is a dilemma that I do not envy Les for being in.  All of our QBs are young and so I feel like it is the coaches responsibility to work with what they have.  It seems to me that the coaches at LSU are still trying to play with Flynn behind center, they haven't figured out how to use what skills Lee does have (BIG arm and he is excellent outside the numbers).  I know you can't go outside the numbers every time.  BUT if we successfully run the ball which shouldn't be hard with Scott and Williams in the backfield, what is to say we can't be successful throwing outside the numbers 75% of the time, running the ball, and keeping Lee from being entirely a pocket QB!  I loved watching him run the option against Alabama the one time he did.  I loved watching him roll out of the pocket.  These are things that we should have seen as soon as we lost to UF and realized what Lee's true problems were against top notch SEC teams.

I know the kid has potential, but he isn't there yet.  However, I can't lay all the blame on him, the coaches need to exploit his strengths and stay away from his weaknesses, I think they are still in denial and believe he is an experienced QB with 30+ games under his belt.
